How to prepare a beautiful nourishing tangerine lip balm

This lip balm recipe is incredibly easy to make and nourishing for the lips.

This lip balm can be:

  • used for many things, for example take a little and apply it to dry skin or as a protective salve  during the cooler months.
  • placed on the delicate under eye area as a moisturising emollient and on unruly eyebrows to keep them in place
  • formulated into different healing combinations for different seasons

In the summer months, you can switch out the citrus essential oils in your lip balms in case they make your skin more photosensitive for lavender, clove or vanilla.

This recipe makes around four small lip balm tubes of nine grams each, plus a little over for you to test each batch. This recipe can be scaled up to increase the quantities.

Tangerine oil has a sweet refreshing and happy aroma. Tangerine has a long history of use in Chinese culture and herbal health practices.

  4. Heat: Place the beaker in the small pan of boiling water until all ingredients are melted
  5. Essential oil: Once the combined
  6. ingredients have cooled but not solidified, add the essential oil and mix thoroughly
  7. Pour: The combined ingredients carefully into each lip balm tube to the top and allow to cool
  8. Test: The fifth tube is your tester – it will not be completely full. Once cooled add the lids and product labels.
